Dear Goose, Thank you for your question. The Delta Contemporary Corner Shelf 41516 model, does not have any recommended height requirements for installation. This unit can be installed vertically, horizontally or at an angle, as long as the mounting screw on one end of the Assist Bar is secured into a wall stud. Best regards, Tanya

Read the last line under "CAUTION AND SAFETY WARNINGS:" on the Safety Bar Installation Instructions provided with the product or in the link https://media.deltafaucet.com/MandI/CP11626.pdf, it indicates to apply a bead of silicone sealant to the back of the mounting flanges to prevent water from bleeding through the mounting holes. Unfortunately, the 7/8" wide mounting flange will not cover the entire 1" diameter hole, so you still have a gap on top and underneath the flange you will need to seal.

Hello Lori, Thank you for your question on the Delta Contemporary Corner Shelf with Assist Bar. I will be happy to assist you today. You can install shelves on the UPstile walls with screws. If you choose to do so, please make sure to apply sealant around all the seams of the shelves to ensure a water tight seal. Also keep in mind if holes are drilled incorrectly for the screws, unfortunately we would not be able to cover that issue under warranty. I have included below a list of sealants that we recommend and are tested by our engineers: DAP® 3.0™ Kitchen, Bath & Plumbing High Performance Sealant Red Devil® RD3000™ Advanced Kitchen & Bath Sealant ECO-BOND® Kitchen-Bath-Plumbing Adhesive and Sealant We do also different models that can be used instead. They are the models 41316-RB and 41416-RB.
