Good Afternoon, We thank you for contacting us with your questions. This product has only been tested for treated water from homes and under typical/normal use in the bathroom. It is not rated for outdoor use and those conditions. The cold, humidity, and water damage from the environment can be much more damaging and corrosive. They have been tested and rated for indoor use only. The parts are stainless steel, but there are different grades of stainless steel and these are not the outdoor grade of material. Depending on the type of hangers used (metal, wood or plastic) you may be able to fit 10-20 empty hangers comfortably on this hook; however, please know a Delta robe hook is not designed or tested to hold more than 30 lbs of weight and any scratches to the finish would not be covered under the warranty. You run the risk of glass shattering if attempting to install this onto a glass shower panel and would not be recommended.
