If you measure from below the rim of the back of the bowl of your toilet to the water line, the measuring tape should extend to approximately 7 1/2" before reaching the water line since this model is a water efficient toilet. Thank you for your question, Newbs. This faucet uses a siphonic flush and uses an efficient 1.28 gallon per flush. The noise will be average compared to other similar toilets and is the result of water emptying from the tank combined with suction noises as the water exits through the drain. Best regards, Jon

Delta Toilets are water-saving toilets that use 1.28 gallons of water per flush (GPF). While this is considered a full flush on water-efficient units, non-water efficient units use more water for a longer period of time to clean the basin. If you’d like a longer flush on our water-efficient toilets, you will need to hold down the handle so the water can run longer in the bowl. If you feel this isn’t the issue at hand, you can verify the amount of water in the bowl to make sure it is using the correct amount of water per flush. To measure the water level, you begin by measuring from the rim of the bowl to the water line in the bowl.It should measure 7-23/32" from the rim of the bowl to the waterline. You can also check the tank to see how much water it is holding. The water level should be about an inch below the opening of the overflow tube. If it’s a lot lower, there might not be enough water to fill the bowl. You can fix this by adjusting the float in the tank. One other thing you can check is to make sure you don't have any clogs in your pipes and your vent is clear. Sometimes a clog deep within the pipes can cause suction, removing some of the water from the bowl.
